Michelle Roark - Voila Perfumer Michelle Roark is a professional athlete, chemical engineer and entrepreneur. As a professional skier, she competed on the US Freestyle Ski Team for 16 years and was awarded numerous titles including Olympian, World Cup Champion, National Champion and many other podium finishes on the World Cup tour. Six years ago, she applied her Chemical Engineering education to launch Phia Lab LLC, an all-natural fragrance, skin, hair and body products company.

Since the launch Phia (formerly known as Phi-nomenal) has grown into an established business appearing on NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, and in the WSJ to name a few. Phia now has a lab and workshop on the second floor in the Phi-nomenal building above Voila. Michelle still enjoys doing extensive custom blends for individuals in Voila as well as numerous parties for all ages in the workshop space upstairs.

Michelle’s high energy, charismatic and sparkling personality has inspired others in all she does. During competition in Vancouver, NBC commentators referred to Michelle as “pure happiness”. In her role as perfumer, she enjoys interacting with clients and redirects her energy to ensure satisfaction in her products and delivery.

Michelle’s attitude in life is to live, love, be “phi-nomenal” and to surround herself with people who believe in the same.

This never-say-never professional athlete, chemical engineer and entrepreneur has applied unwavering mental and physical strength to overcome setbacks, achieve goals and inspire. As a professional skier, she competed on the US Freestyle Ski Team for 16 years and was awarded numerous titles including Olympian, World Cup Champion, National Champion, World Champion Silver Medalist and many other podium finishes on the World Cup tour. Four years ago, she applied her Chemical Engineering education to launch Phinomenal LLC, an all-natural perfume and body products company rooted in the divine proportions of the number Phi. Michelle started the journey as a figure skater, turned to skiing at age 16 when funds were thin, juggled numerous jobs to keep the Olympic dream alive in the early years, and rebuilt her skills after knee surgeries an unprecedented six times! In 2006 she won back-to-back World Cups securing her spot in the 2006 Torino Olympics. In the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, she earned freestyle pioneer status by executing a 720 in mogul competition, the most difficult aerial maneuver that a woman has attempted on World Cup. Michelle’s attitude in life is to live, love, be “phi-nomenal” and to surround herself with people who believe in the same.

A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Michelle was disappointed with commercial perfumes. Utilizing her Chemical Engineering background, she invented an all natural carrier base – the perfect backdrop for nature’s finest essences. Which, by utilizing her mathematical knowledge of Phi, she precisely combined to create Phi-nomenal products (patent pending). The result – a divinely unique, all-natural, well-balanced product line designed to empower the human spirit.
